What is Skinvive by JUVEDERM®?

How Long Until I See Results?
With Skinvive by JUVEDERM®, you’ll be able to see initial results almost immediately, with most patients noticing improved texture and skin hydration shortly after getting treated. The full results are typically noticeable within about 4 weeks of your injection date, revealing softer, smoother skin.
However, as with most dermal fillers and injectables, there is some risk of swelling, redness, or irritation at the injection site. This typically clears up on its own within a few days.
To boost your results and prevent any potential adverse reactions, it’s important to follow your provider’s post-injection instructions. Avoid any strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours following your appointment. Chemical peels, laser treatments, and certain other skin care procedures should also be avoided, as there is a possible risk of an inflammatory reaction at the treatment site.
How Does Skinvive Work?
Skinvive by JUVEDERM® is injected intradermally – just below the epidermis. As a dermal filler, it works on two levels: by adding volume to the desired treatment site, Skinvive by JUVEDERM® helps to restore loss volume and fill in mild to moderate skin folds and wrinkles. Then, the hyaluronic acid-based formula helps to boost your skin’s ability to retain moisture. The gel consistency also means it takes longer for your body to break down, giving you lasting results.
Skinvive by JUVEDERM® is specifically formulated for treating the cheeks and has not been evaluated for effectiveness on other areas of the face or body. It has not been approved for use in patients under the age of 21. Patients with active skin infections, rashes, acne breakouts, or other blemishes should avoid use until after the condition has cleared, as Skinvive by JUVEDERM® may interfere with the healing process.
Please consult with your provider about any concerns you may have prior to using Skinvive by JUVEDERM®. Do not use this product if you have a history of severe reactions (anaphylaxis) or history or presence of multiple severe allergies or if you are allergic to lidocaine or the Gram-positive bacterial proteins used in this product, or if you have had previous allergic reactions to hyaluronic acid fillers. Be sure to discuss any medications or medical treatments you may be undergoing, including taking blood thinners or immune suppressing medications, as these may increase your risks of adverse reactions or infection.
How Long Does Skinvive by JUVEDERM® Last?
For most patients, Skinvive by JUVEDERM® can help boost skin’s moisture and smooth the skin for about 6 months. This is nearly twice as long as some other dermal fillers and injectable treatments, which fade after just 3 to 4 months. Skinvive by JUVEDERM® lasts longer because of the gel consistency, which is more resilient against breaking down.
