What Exactly is Revanesse?
Revanesse® is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has been in use in over 80 countries since 2002. The original product, Revanesse® Versa™, is designed to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles. It is often used to smooth nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and other creases around the nose and mouth. In 2020, the FDA approved a second product, Revanesse® Lips™. This hyaluronic acid (HA) filler is formulated and made using a proprietary manufacturing process that produces spherical, uniform hyaluronic acid particles. The particle size and consistency make Revanesse® ideal for insertion into the mid to deep dermis.
A little something that sets Revanesse® apart from other HA dermal fillers is that it comes in a 1.2 mL syringe. This equates to about 20 percent more product in each syringe than its competitors, paving the way to more cost-effective, satisfying outcomes.
How Does Revanesse Differ from Other Lip Fillers?
Revanesse® Lips™ is made for submucosal insertion in and around the lips. It is made with smooth, spherical hyaluronic acid particles that integrate naturally into the surrounding tissue. According to clinical data, this lip filler offers a few benefits that you might find significant to your overall experience. One is that Revanesse® Lips™ resulted in less swelling in 50 percent of patients involved in clinical trials. All of the treating physicians in the clinical trial reported improvement, much improvement, or very much improvement at six months for all patients. The rate for the competitor was just over 76 percent. This percentage as reported by patients was just over 96 percent, an indication of the efficacy of this product. Also, fewer patients reported pain with their lip augmentation using Revanesse® Lips™ than competitor lip fillers.
Can I Combine Revanesse with Other Cosmetic Treatments?
As a hyaluronic acid dermal filler, Revanesse® can safely be combined with other cosmetic treatments. Just like other known dermal fillers are often used in conjunction with neuromodulators like Botox, so can Revanesse®. You may also receive this dermal filler treatment as one aspect of a broader treatment plan that includes surgical or non-surgical facial rejuvenation. Depending on the procedures that are involved in your treatment plan, Dr. Baum may schedule them in phases to ensure that one does not diminish or alter the effects of another.
How Many Revanesse Treatments Are Needed for the Best Results?
Revanesse® Versa™ and Revanesse® Lips™ are designed to achieve remarkable results in just one sitting. Because hyaluronic acid particles quickly bind to water molecules in your skin, you can expect to see noticeable changes such as a softening of your lines and wrinkles immediately.
Can Anyone Receive Revanesse Lip Filler?
Revanesse® is approved for adults over the age of 22. Because Revanesse® Lips™ is thin and easy to disperse through superficial tissue, it is one of the most popular products for lip augmentation. To determine if you are an ideal candidate for this treatment, Dr. Baum will carefully listen to your goals and will describe how Revanesse® works, as well as what she anticipates can be achieved in your case. This product has not been tested for safety in women who are pregnant or nursing.
